I like that the company is so easy to talk to on the phone and get answers when I need them. They were great about answering questions, and I like that they are tied to the military as well. It makes it feel much more personal to me.

What I like is that they help service members but that they are also just a solid company in general. Anything that I need be it financial or insurance related they have someone there who will help get me to the right person and this makes them extremely valuable to me.

They are very friendly to me on the phone. They have an outstanding phone application that I can use to answer about 80% of my questions. When they process a claim (I had a car accident about a year ago) it was within a couple of days, and it was painless. Before USAA I was a member of a very large insurance company (I'll mention the name) that was short, unprofessional and took forever to process a car accident claim. That is why I love USAA so much.
It is a really great company and I would recommend it to anyone who qualifies to be under this coverage. Great, great, great!
I have always been treated like a valued customer and never had any issues that were not resolved in a timely manner. They are veterans and active duty military friendly with ability to be flexible with many situations civilians are unaware of or able to handle

App is great because USAA doesn't have branches so the app is the primary way I get things done from transfers, to deposits to paying bills. Use the Android version.
USAA also excels in customer interaction, every notice is proactively handled via mail / email and you are constantly aware of the status of your accounts both checking/savings/credit and insurance and home/auto loans.
USAA's only real flaw is that they don't have branches in any practical sense. They do have some kiosks in certain cities like Washington, D.C. but that is basically it. They compensate for this with their excellent customer service and providing ATM charge fee rebates for every ATM transaction.
USAA overall is an excellent company, they pride themselves on customer service and showing respect for prior service members and their families. Interactions are completely professional and timely. Claims for things like auto are handled very well and fast. Disputes also handled very well and fast. Couldn't recommend more highly.

So far the customer service has been great. When our dishwasher machine sprung a leak, they immediately sent out an adjuster and he provided a full agreement that we were covered. The floor was replaced and we got a new washer.

At times, the payments seem expensive for the amount of coverage. If you are late on payments the rates seem to go higher in price.

I don't have anything that I dislike about USAA. I have been using them for insurance for years, and I've always been very happy with what I get from them. I've never been able to find the same level of service for the same price from any other insurance company.
What I dislike is that just like every company the premiums are rising every year. I understand that the cost of living goes up but I wish that they could hold for a year or two and spread back some of their profits to the members. Insurance across the board is getting very expensive.
The only area that is not superior is the cost. They are several cheaper options for homeowners insurance, but none of these options offer anywhere near the services of this company.
I don't like that I do not have a home office for my company. If I need anything from them I have to mail it or fax it. I can't just walk into their office and do what I need to do.
I dislike how they will combine accounts when someone gets married - without notifying you, which then muddles up whose account the services are built under.

Like most companies in general, regardless of the industry, it is the wait time while on hold when calling them. Nor can I stand the stupid elevator music they play.
I think sometimes they could be faster to respond to things and I'd like it more if they had actual branches because I have a lot of business going through them. Having to always talk to someone on the phone is kind of a hassle sometimes.

I dislike their claims communications online because that part of their website is somewhat confusing, but that's about the worst thing about USAA.
The main thing I don't like is that it is a pain to deposit cash because there are no local banks. I don't deposit money that often so it's not huge but I would like the process to be easier.
We don't really dislike anything. We have never had a complaint about our service in twenty years. Belonging to USAA has been one of the best rewards from my husband's serving 20 years in the U.S. Military.
I really do not have anything negative to say about USAA at this point. We have moved more and more services to them as time has gone on due to the experience and professionalism provided. I recommend this company to anyone that is eligible.
usaa has always offered me low premiums on auto and home and life, and cater only to the military, which i love. i am part of their community, and they treat us with high service and excellent rates. just as consumer reports! (make America great again!)
I don't like the fact that USAA does not have a physical office and I am not able to walk in and do business. Sometimes I want the option to do business in person
There really is not anything that I dislike about the company. They have been exceptional in all of their services to us. We never even have a long phone wait.
I know if I shopped around separately for all of my accounts I could find slightly better rates, specifically on mortgage and home insurance. But I'm not sure it's worth my time to save a small amount. I don't like that mortgages are sold off almost immediately after closing, so they don't actually handle the payments in-house.
Although a good company, don't have a physical branch or location in my state. Would be nice to talk to someone face to face if necessary.
Sometimes I think that the premium is a little too high for the amount coverage they offer. Another thing is to reach a representative on the phone takes a little too long.
I do not like that when we made a claim our rates went up to offset the claim. That seems backward to me. What is the point of having insurance if I have to pay back the claim amount? I should just put my money in the bank if that's the case
I strongly dislike the random premium changes. Our car insurance went up $12 a month with no explanation. No new tickets and our vehicle are already older so it does not like the value went up. I also strongly dislike how hard the website is to use. I'm so tired of having to reset a password every time I use it because it goes defunct just before you need your new auto ID card.
There isn't anything I dislike about USAA. I guess the one thing that I would feel would be convenient would be if they had an office here in town. That being said, they might. I've just never needed to file a claim.
My home insurance company's website and mobile app could be a little better. Buttons are small and formatting is weird.

I sometimes feel that the company is a little lax in their professionalism. Being a small company in a small town seems to promote a certain type of attitude that could be construed as incompetent. I often have to call back to resolve issues or have something answered.

The office is in San Antonio Texas. This helps to provide lower cost by not having to support offices, but also makes it difficult sometimes to get to people. That is why I am grateful for their awesome online and telephone systems.

USAA has slowly been adding fees to all their services and dent that the fees are the new addition and their customer is trained to pretend that the fee we're always being applied. I have been a member of USAA since 2001 and I am well aware there were not added fees before.

They need to be more careful in hiring employees, especially young employees. Sometimes, customers are transferred when they have multiple inquiries.
The claims reps need to do a better job of representing the client. Also, they need to do a better job understanding the claims process. I shouldn't have to submit the same document 3 different ways in order for them to review and process a payout.

I think the monthly premium should be lower than it is. I have never filed a claim but since I have bad credit it seems to be higher than it should.
They provide good pricing with excellent coverage for veterans and their families.
