A newly constructed Lakewood home can enjoy $188 off on homeowners insurance. Houses are at their lowest propensity to damage when they're new, which is why companies offer attractive discounts for these homes as well. In contrast, older houses attract higher rates of repair and maintenance costs - a cost that's reflected in the price of your homeowner’s insurance premium and leads them to be charged an additional fee. For instance Lakewood homes older than 40 and 50 years receive an additional charge of $19 and $27, respectively, on home insurance.

Homeowners in Lakewood pay a small additional amount of $14 on their insurance premiums by installing a swimming  pool. Installing self-latching and self-closing gates around the pool also benefits your insurance rates and insurance companies provide discounts for the same. Additionally, senior citizens receive discounts on home insurance rates so it is a perk  that a household has at least one person over 50 years old living there.Homeowners who don't smoke or live with smokers may be eligible for an additional discount from certain companies too.

Although most of the factors that determine discounts cannot be controlled by  homeowners, they can benefit most by choosing deductibles to reduce home insurance rates. Homeowners can avail of attractive discounts by opting for higher deductibles. Lakewood homeowners paying a high deductible of $2,500 can avail of a discount of $203.89 on homeowners insurance. Homeowners receive discounts of $170.77 and $114.67, respectively, on deductibles of $2,000 and $1,500.

Homeowners in Lakewood who have a claims-free history with their home insurance company can receive discounts on their premiums.Homeowners with prior claims can pay more for factors such as the number and type of claims. By providing a history of zero claim, homeowners pay an additional amount on their premiums in Lakewood of $303.66 or $115.68 respectively based on two fire damage incidents or water-damage incidents they have experienced previously.

State Farm
I am not aware of what the premium we pay is but our deductible is $3,000 which seems high compared to our friends.
State Farm
The customer support at state farm is as good as anyone can really reasonable ask for. I've never had to fight with them over my deducible or had any real hard time trying to get a hold of them.
Allstate
They offer new packages every year based on the taxes and spontaneous in solving queries.
Safeco Insurance
In general I am satisfied with the customer service. Our particular agent does try to really push higher levels of insurance and additional insurance we don't want, but if I call the customer service line.
Progressive
They essentially sub-let my policy and messed up the paperwork, but to be honest, in my five years with them, I've never had to file a claim so I don't know how they would handle that.
Erie Insurance
I felt like Erie Insurance offered a great opportunity. I was able to bundle with car insurance and save, which was nice. Other insurance providers offered nice opportunities, too, but I just felt Erie Insurance was too good to pass up on.
Progressive
I have had really good luck with this company. They have taken care of a claim for me and paid quickly. They were available to answer my questions when I needed them.

I would rate my policy offerings compared to other insurances. I switched from State Farm and saved money they were running a special on mobile homes and i only pad $56 a month!

I like the usability of their website and how intuitive it is. as soon as you navigate to it you know where to go depending on what you are trying to do.
Farmer's Insurance
I wish the price is a little lower for the home insurance especially when we bundle with auto insurance as well.
State Farm
People are great. the phone application works great. they keep asking for opinions and change for the better. if i do not have the finances in my account, then they will allow me to make a double payment or pay 2 weeks later
Grange Insurance
I think that my premium could be better and the high deductible is a huge issue for me and probably needs to be addressed when my credit score goes up

I am somewhat satisfied with my Liberty Mutual premium. I think I could get a cheaper rate somewhere else but Liberty Mutual offers exceptional coverage. You get what you pay for.

I rate the company a what i did because they actually told me that the rates were going up and they did notify ahead of time

I am not familiar with my company having a mobile app, this is something that I should look into. The company's website is ok but can sometimes be burdensome to use and hard to get around the site easily.
State Farm
I would recommend this company as they have a proven track record for offering affordable insurance
Progressive
I would absolutely recommend this insurance company to others. Their pricing is fair and affordable, and buying a policy is easily done via the website. Great customer service is provided if you need any assistance.

As I am a first time home-buyer this is the first company I have had home insurance through. This company was recommended by my realtor and so far I am pleased.
State Farm
My premium is higher than others but I was able to get a cheaper deductible.

I haven't really had any experiences, other than paying a premium, but I have not had any negative experiences or problems, so it seems like they are fine.
