I am 24 years old, male and single. My house is 14 years old and was not a new purchase. I have a standard roof. Yes, this house is my primary residence. I have four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. My home is in a suburban subdivision. My house is about five miles away from the town's fire station. I do not bundle my home and auto insurance. My deductible is $500. I do not have a swimming pool, but I do have a monitored security system along with IP video cameras and door/window sensors.
I use Farmers Insurance Company for my homeowners insurance. I pay about $1800 per year for my coverage of my home with a $5,000 deductible. My coverage provides full replacement of my home, worth about $450,000. I have been with Farmers for more than 20 years and have filed two claims in that time, both of which were paid quickly and without any hassle on my part. I utilize a local agent who has always provided outstanding service, including routine policy check-ups to ensure my coverage remains current. I have always appreciated these routine check-ups since my home is my largest investment, by far and I want to make sure I am properly covered in the event of an accident.
