I (a twenty-three year old, single, female) was able to purchase my first home on 364 Shamrock Blvd. Venice, Florida, 34293, as of March this year. The house is just over thirty years old, two bedroom, two bath and a one car garage with a recently replaced roof, water piping and a/c unit. I enrolled of homeowners insurance with United Property Corps. and paid $841.00 for the year. On a scale of one to five, I would hardly give them a two, I have not been happy with all the hoops I have had to jump though thus far. From my rate/claim being raised twice, multiple cancelation notices and poor customer service, it leaves much to be desired!
I am a 57 year old female who lives with her fiance. Our homeowner's insurance is through Southern Fidelity. I am currently paying $2,202.00 per year for my homeowner's insurance. I have coverage limits of $125,000 for dwelling and property coverage; $100,000.00 for personal liability and medical payments; $10,000.00 for limited fungi property; 50,000.00 for limited fungi. I don't really deal with my carrier as I have an agent but I will give the carrier a 5 for not cancelling me when I tried People's Insurance and they dropped me after three months because of a building we added on. Southern Fidelity never cancelled us even though I requested it so it was not a problem keeping my insurance active. I have been with Southern Fidelity since I purchased the house in 2006. I currently use Hughes Insurance Services as my agent for homeowner's insurance. They are very knowledgeable and they return emails and/or calls in a timely manner. They listen to what our concerns are and don't mislead us as others have done. Southern Fidelity is an honest company.
I am a 57 year old woman who lives with her fiance. We have our homeowner's insurance through Southern Fidelity. Our insurance was purchased in 2006 through Hughes Insurance Services in Bradenton. We have been happy with both the insurance agent and the company although I made a mistake of trying to switch to People's (which I would never recommend) in order to lower our insurance rate. We currently pay $2,202.00 and was offered another rate through a different agent of approximately $1,300.00 per year. We made the change and I sent cancellation to Southern Fidelity. Three months later I get a dropped notice from People's due to the inspection that was done AFTER we purchased the policy. I went back to Hughes and explained what I did. They contacted me and let me know that Southern Fidelity had never cancelled my policy. I was able to return to them and would never change from Hughes Insurance Services - I would look to them to guide me. My home was built prior to 1925 and is a wood frame. We have a shingle roof with two bedrooms and 1-1/2 baths. I do not bundle auto and home. My deductible is $1,000.00 except for hurricanes when it is $2,500.00.
