Usaa is trustworthy and ethical. 2 things that aren't often found in business. I made sure when my children were born that they got usaa numbers of their own so they'd be able to use the services for life. I think that speaks volumes.

So far the customer service has been great. When our dishwasher machine sprung a leak, they immediately sent out an adjuster and he provided a full agreement that we were covered. The floor was replaced and we got a new washer.

USAA has slowly been adding fees to all their services and dent that the fees are the new addition and their customer is trained to pretend that the fee we're always being applied. I have been a member of USAA since 2001 and I am well aware there were not added fees before.

It is hard to cancel insurance with them. They are tricky about not entirely taking autos off of your policy when you ask them. (They have put a 5.00 a month hold on our auto policy for a truck I wanted to cancel and did not tell us). Also, they have recently pressured me for payment of my auto premium when I switched one of the household cars to Progressive to save money during a time of financial trouble.
