For the size of our home, we have a much lower premium now than we had with other carriers who we had in our home that was half the size. We have always had a $1000 deductible.

My home insurance company policy offers protection against a flooded basement at a minimal cost. Other companies we looked at did not offer this. Beyond that, I am not sure the difference between our and other companies.
Progressive
Our customer service with this company has been ok. No major claims with them so we haven't had a whole lot of experience in this area with them. The couple times we have had to contact them it was hassle free.
Foremost Insurance
I don't have any comparison information. Once I made my selection I have no need to retain that other information.
Nationwide
The only negative thing that i can say about nationwide is that they don't have a lot of plans to choose from. they could have more.
Liberty Mutual
We had our water heater break last year. it caused flooding in our basement which had a finished room with carpeting. it took no time at all for someone to come out and check the damage.

Understanding the terminology in the paperwork that is received every time the policy renews can be difficult, even for the most seasoned homeowner.
State Farm
Sometimes the website usability can be a bit difficult to navigate, and it’s not that user-friendly. Sometimes it’s hard to pay a bill online.
State Farm
They were good and fast about getting my hail damage assessed and paid out a few years ago. That’s really the only thing I've had them deal with. The adjuster came out and did his thing and I didn't even realize he came...

Our initial agent for Auto Owners lost their qualifications to write business with the company. The new agent had to rewrite our policy instead of taking over the existing policy.

Every year price for the home and car insurance goes up and up, they blame that in the same area the claim rate is rising. It's their all-time excuse. However, they are still relatively low compared to other insurance companies.

Compared to other companies Progressive had better coverage. They cover all things in and attached to the house including sewer lines similar to what USAA offers.
Allstate
I did recently get a quote from Progressive as it made sense to evaluate when changing my Auto Policy. Progressive charged more money for less coverage in that quote.
Foremost Insurance
You just can't find a better company for the money. You can pay less, but I've heard horror stories from my neighbors who took out policies that cost far less. Well, they received little to no money after Hurricane Irma. I was fortunate and only had minimum damage, not enough to even file a claim. I can only recommend Foremost to my friends who ask about homeowner's insurance on a manufactured home. Don't take the chance of going with a company that will give you nothing or very little when you file a claim. Cheap policies are a dime a dozen. Foremost is a great company and stands behind their commitment. One more thing, they did not raise the premiums after Hurricane Irma! Keep that in mind.
Geico
I guess I could complain that they don't have offices everywhere but calling and going online is just as convenient if not more so.
