State Farm
State farm offers a discount if you have multiple policies with them, so my home insurance is discounted because i also have my autos insurance with them.
Geico
They are very expensive. the rates seem to climb every year without adding additional options or choices for coverage expansion. if you happen to miss a payment, they most likely won't offer another policy, which is very greedy.
Geico
The customer service has been very good as well. every time we need to call or have questions we get great assistance from their customer service representatives. they are very patient with all of our questions. we have not had a bad on the phone experience.
Geico
While the interface of both the website and app is good, the response time is not as quick as I would like. Usually, I receive an automated response from both saying that I have entered an inquiry, but I end up having to call the insurance company to speak to a live representative right then and there.
State Farm
Although my premium is more than most, I understand it is due to the rural area and an all-volunteer fire department and not having fire hydrants close by.
Progressive
I imagine I pay a lot less than the average person since I live in a condo and not a house. I know that my relatives who own free-standing houses pay a lot more than me. But that's because there's a lot more that can go wrong in a house than a condo, I think.
State Farm
I can email my local agent in the morning and I have a response by mid-afternoon. If he can't help us with the problem immediately, he at least acknowledges the email and that he is working on it for us.
Geico
I dislike how they are always pushing services that I don't need all the time. It can feel like they care about advertising and product pushing more than growing their services.
State Farm
It's a little expensive and getting claims paid is more difficult that other companies.
