It may not be the least expensive company offering insurance but you really do get what you pay for, the coverage is comprehensive and the service has always been outstanding. It is hard to cancel insurance with them. They are tricky about not entirely taking autos off of your policy when you ask them. (They have put a 5.00 a month hold on our auto policy for a truck I wanted to cancel and did not tell us). Also, they have recently pressured me for payment of my auto premium when I switched one of the household cars to Progressive to save money during a time of financial trouble.

Overall, I do not like how difficult Allstate makes it get a full roof replacement when there is hail damage. They only want to replace the portions of the roof that are damaged even though this will not look right and the whole thing needs to be replaced. I'd have to say there are two things that really annoys me about the company. First and foremost the constant spamming of advertisements via email and mail. I'll get at least 10 messages a week about some new policy they are selling. The second thing is the lack of good phone customer service. Our premiums are very high because of flood insurance, which is of course, unpleasant. Obviously, I'd rather not have to pay flood coverage.

All-State is a very expensive insurer. There may be cheaper ones out there but I have found that you generally get what you pay for too when shopping for price only. Read your contract carefully.

All-State is about as bad a company as most large insurers are. They spend a lot on PR and making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, as long as you don't argue about what you are paying. All-State will honor your contract IF they feel none of the exclusions were met.

I wish they would reduce there rates and reduce the deductible but over all the rates seem to be comparable nationale
